Description: since the Motorola M6 M8 receiving performance is quite poor now, I just use the Furuno GT-80 GPS to replace it then extend its life time;Furuno GT-80 GPS for HP/Symmetricom Z3801A, Z3805A, 58503A (no VFD version), 16 Channel GPS, no 1024 week rollover problem;before exchange the GPS module , please make sure your GPSDO inside is NOT a GT-80 module, use comand (Satstat 5.0 application software): :diag:iden:gps? if the reponse like it: "--","SFTW P/N # 4850266","SOFTWARE VER # 005","--","--","MODEL # FURUNO GT-80","--","--","--","--" that means your GPSDO inside already installed GT-80, no need to change it, if not, your GPS module is M6 (6 channel) or M8 (8 channel) GPS receiver; OK, just following the procedure:1. open the top cover of your GPSDO;2. take the 5 screws and 2 plugs (check picture 2);3. open the power module, then find the GPS module, take 4 screws (check picture 3);4. use the attached IC remover / stripper, take out the 4 Flash eprom, 1L, 2L, 1M, 2M (check picture 4);5. install the new 4 Flash eprom, 1L, 2L, 1M, 2M (take care the angle direction);6. install the new GT-80 GPS;7. install back the power module; OK, now you connect the USB-RS232 cable to the DB25 port (lower) of the GPSDO, type the command: *IDN?you will get: SYMMETRICOM,Z3805A,0,1.01.03-A the output port of hardware is no change, just the software changed; the auction include:1. one GT-80 unit;2. one IC remover / stripper;3. 4 Flash Eprom chips; ship to US 48 states in free. I spent several days for the research just want to extend the life of the GPSDO then can protect the enviroment.
