Description: Folk Art Carved Wood Sculpture Kestrel Hawk Bird Carving Statue Newhouse 10.75"H This handsome folk art Kestrel Hawk carved wood sculpture will make a great addition to your collection. It features a carved wood form of what appears to be an American Kestrel Hawk with hand painted details including resin eyes and handmade legs/feet. It is signed what appears to be "Newhouse" on the lower edge of the base along with initials preceding the last name that are possibly "TL" but they aren't quite legible to me. Will blend perfectly in collections containing folk art, primitives, outsider art, naïve art and bird sculptures in general. ITEM DETAILS: Approximate weight is 1 lb 4 ozsMeasures approximately 4" x 5" x 10.75" tallCondition: In vintage pre-owned handmade condition with wear including dirt, dust, grime, fine abrasions/scratches, dents, dings, some worn area on the bottom likely were a price mark/etc was removed, artist original blemishes/flaws including unevenly applied painted finish, paint voids, uneven surface shapes/forms/edges/details, the eyes are sort of roughly applied/inset/attached, there is a small light spot on the tip of the beak that is either a paint void or flaked/chipped paint, stains, fine chipping around the edge of the base, cracks/cracking, discoloring and overall wear from age and handling.
