Description: Five Dollar Shoes, self titled LP released in 1972 on Neighborhood records. When this album was released, (by Melanie and her husband) it was up against a lot of competition in it's genre, and quietly faded away due to lack of identity. The confusing cover did not help market the album, or explain what kind of music you were buying from a new band you did not know !Overall the album is really quite good. Some of the other bands at the time of the records release were T.Rex, Slade, Gary Glitter, David Bowie for example, some stiff competition. The vinyl of this album has been cleaned and play tested. After cleaning and play testing, we rate the vinyl as VG+, clean and glossy, it plays through fine on both sides. The music is really not bad at all ! Had the band been marketed a little better, they may have been more successful. The gatefold cover is solid but only due to basic age wear we have to rate is as VG. Please check out the attached pictures. The original insert is included and we have placed the record in a new black paper inner sleeve for protection. The record will be securely packed and shipped in a cardboard record mailer suing USPS media mail rates. Thanks for reading our post! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
