There were 3 prototypes handcrafted exclusively in Bozeman, Montana by Gibson Guitar's world-class luthiers in 1999. Prototype #1 was sent to Yoko Ono for her approval and mine was a backup model built in case of shipping damage or loss to the first. There was one more prototype built, and that was originally sent to Dave's Guitar in Wisconsin. This is NOT a limited edition guitar. This is the #2 prototype. There were 250 limited edition J-160E’s produced in 1999 after the 3 prototypes. The guitar has no damage and is in mint condition.
