Eugen Reichenbach (1840-1926) German landscape painter born in Munich in 1840. In 1858 he began studying chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich . There he became a member of the Corps Franconia . After a temporary transfer to the University of Göttingen , he returned to Munich and completed his studies with a specialist examination and a doctorate in philosophy . Reichenbach became an assistant to Justus Liebig , but sustained a serious injury in an explosion in the laboratory and had to give up his job.
