That guitar was Kirk's first Gibson, and it is the one that established his passion for Gibson guitars. Kirk still plays that original guitar and used it on all of Metallica's early albums. Now Epiphone, in cooperation with Gibson Custom Shop, has released the Epiphone Kirk Hammett 1979 Flying V, a meticulous reproduction of Kirk's original guitar! It features a mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck with volute, Grover Rotomatic machine head with "spade" button, and a custom bridge. The electronics are top-notch as well, with Gibson USA calibrated T-type humbucker pickups, CTS potentiometers, Orange Drop condensers, Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector toggle switch, 1/4" output jack equipped. The back of the headstock is adorned with the Kirk Hammett logo. Comes with a black hardshell case with red plush interior. The image is a sample.
