Same design principles as the RL 550B/C Primer Slide Bearing Kit that has sold 1000's. 3. Made from 304 stainless steel, polished to a smooth/slick finished surface. I have used coated plates, but the coating wears off. Stainless 304 is pretty tough compared to the factory and other aftermarket plates. It will keep the smooth finish for thousands and thousands of rounds. 4. The ball bearing is a rubber sealed bearing to keep out dust and primer dust. 5. This comes from the original "Dillon 550B Primer Track Bearing Plate w/Ball Bearing" manufacturer in Texas. All components - from the washers, to the stainless steel plate is sourced from ISO certified manufacturers and are bought from American companies that pay American workers. Watch out for counterfeit substandard overseas versions. 6. If the day ever comes and your plate gets worn out or just rough, I will re-polishing or replace the plate for free, just pay to ship it to me. I have a similar product for the RL550 family of presses where the press de-caps and primes in the same location. I have repolished/replaced two out of 7,500+ kits sold since 2015, both presses were sent to Dillon for rebuild after 81K and 75k of loaded rounds. How does the upgraded Primer Track Bearing plate work? 1. As the Primer Slide (75107) moves back into the Primer Feed Body w/Shield (75106) to pick up a primer, the Primer Slide Return Spring (13928 which is below the priming system) is pulling on the Primer Slide Return Spring Post (13924) which acts like a lever. This causes the Primer Slide to slightly tip back due to the lack of complete support by the factory Dillon Primer Slide Track Bearing when fully extended. Problem one fixed. 2. The Operation Rod (62330) pushes the Primer Slide back to pick up a new primer, it puts sideways force on the Primer Slide. This causes the primer slide to rotate in the channel of the Primer Feed Body w/Shield. The Operation Rod also has to force the Primer Feed Stop Spring (13979) back to pick up a fresh primer. As the press is used over time, the Operation Rod can start to suffer from metal fatigue and may not be able to push the Primer Slide back as easily causing miss primer pick ups. The the ball bearing provides side support allowing the slide move back and forth straight with less effort and smooths up the primer slide movement.
