The tray is in excellent condition with inlaid wood and brass, with no chips or cracks. It measures about 12-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches. It has a commemorative bronze medallion set into the surface of the tray. The gold foil label on the back reads, "This tray was specially produced for the Old Monterey Bicentennial. The solid bronze medallion depicts Padre Serra with Gaspar De Portola who founded Monterey in 1770. Also shown are other early residents of the area.
