Description: Card of 11 collectible clothing buttons -- all are of the Studio variety made by a button artist -- but they are not signed. Studio buttons were produced by button artists and collectors for the antique button collector's market. The buttons are carved into various types of tree wood -- it seems some effort was made to made the button out of the same wood that the leaves would represent. They are all beautifully made and varnished. The type of leaf is written on the back of each. The very large button at the center is a sew-through, while the rest have loop shanks on the backs. The card used here is made of a thinner cardboard, not like a typical button display card. It features a poster repro of a Georgia O'Keeffe painting, produced by a New York art gallery. The buttons may have been inspired by the famous artist. Can anyone out there help me to identify these? Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact sizes of the buttons. Overall condition: Excellent+..... The buttons may have slight surface wear -- but there are no noticeable flaws that I can see. They are great shape and will display very nicely. See attached photos for more detail on the condition. ***************************************** PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert on vintage buttons. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime member of the National Button Society, plus was active in several local button clubs in New York. She downsized her collection before passing away in 2020, so I have been helping her sell some of her treasures. But I am not familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of button collecting. I try to use various notes she left with the buttons to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, are not terms I am familiar or experienced with. So please use the attached images to form your own opinions. I am also not knowledgeable on the hobby criteria in condition grading -- so I use my condition grades in a commonsense manner -- as if grading any collectible -- they are not based on any hobby standards. Please contact me if you have specific questions, and I will answer them as best I can. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
