Description: This 1961 British import stereo album from Westminster Records (WST-14119) comprises performances by the Smetana Quartet (Jiří Novák, first violin; Lubomir Kostecký, second violin; Milan Škampa, viola; and Antonín Kohout, cello) of works by Ludwig van Beethoven: String Quartet No. 9 in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3 (Rasoumovsky) and String Quartet No. 4 in C Minor, Op. 18, No. 4. Album notes are in English by Irving Kolodin and James Lyons. Also included is a photocopy of the album's review in the July, 1961 issue of The Gramophone. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back.
