Only Bear & Sons and Utica Cutlery use this on their handles, Utica has been out of their for years and now we are told their knife is discontinued. Bear & Sons has these in a very limited amount along with the BR-577 and their 14" Bowie (BC-502). The handle is the key about this knife, plus that its made in the U.S.A. that is why we put as many pic's in here. Because these are next to impossible to get we just brought 3 more and Bear & Sons is once again sold-out. All of the India Stag Bone knives are Limited Edition, BR-548 BR-549, BR-577, BR-502 plus a few others these are made once some twice a year 500 each time but these numbers are going down the stag Bone used to make these is from India and they have put a band on stag, stag bone all antlers very few are being exporting. Bear & Sons has been a fantastic knife company and all of their knives are made right here in the USA, we will continue to get what ever we can but we need to ask you for patients. The handle is Bone but made to look like Stag and as you can see they have cut finger grooves into the bone for (safety) comfort and looks This BR-548 is just 7/8" smaller than the BC-549 but selling out of the 549 we needed to do something so a little smaller at least we have knives.
