Apollo 13 Cacheted Explosion Envelope w/ Kapton Foil Flown Around the Moon

Description: This beautiful 3 3/4" x 6 1/2" cacheted, unaddressed envelope marks the explosion aboard Apollo 13. The envelope is postmarked Cape Canaveral, FL on April 14, 1970. The explosion happened at 3:08 UTC on April 14. Attached to the envelope is a piece of the gold Kapton foil that covered the command module of Apollo 13 approximately 1/4" on its longest side. So this piece of Kapton flew around the moon and back to earth, exposed to the environment of space the entire way. Comes with a copy of the original COA. You may notice some tiny gray dots on the image I've posted. These are NOT on the envelope.
