Description: Up for sale is this lovely antique hand colored cdv photo of a pretty young woman in ethnic costume waving a Hungarian flag. The photo is from a studio in Hartford, Connecticut, so the woman was likely a Hungarian immigrant. In the 1850's there was a large wave of emigration from Hungary to the United States after the defeat of the Hungarian Revolution. The photo is overall in good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. measures approximately 4 inches by 2 3/8 inches and most likely dates to sometime around the 1860's.
