Description: Gorgeous blue carnival glass covered hen on nest made by Sowerby Glass of England circa 1930s. You can see the dark cobalt color in the transparent interior of the dish, and the all-over iridescent glaze on top is truly outstanding. This version also has the little chicks on the sides of the mom hen. It is oval shaped and measures 8" long, 5 3/4" wide and about 6" tall with the lid on. Both the lid and the dish are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and no wear to the finish; there is just a little bit of occasional roughness on the interior lip of the lid, which is typical for these dishes, and it is not visible at all. Beautiful addition to your hen on nest collection!
