Antique Smokey Quartz Necklace 89 cut beads, w. RARE 1888 VICTORIA JUBILEE CROWN

Description: Fascinating antique 37 inch necklace with 89 cut smokey quartz beads. The beads are more or less round, each one measuring approximately 3/16 inches, The metal securing the beads and the necklace is apparently brass. As the featured piece on the necklace is a VERY RARE SILVER 1888 VICTORIA JUBILEE BRITISH CROWN, the smokey quartz probably came from CAIRNGORM MOUNTAIN in the Scottish Highlands. Smokey quartz was very popular in 19th century British Isles, as it was said to have many physical, mental, and emotional healing properties. A lot of people were wearing smokey quartz jewelry at that time. Regarding the featured attraction SILVER CROWN, Victoria's hair on her forehead is very evident on this coin, contributing to a nice grading. There are many circulated crowns without that hair, commanding high prices. But all that is for the numismatists to decide, not me. In addition to this coin being very rare (under 133,000 minted), I believe it is also has a WIDE DATE, which makes it even rarer. Once again, all that is for the experts to decide, not me. As this coin probably has been mounted since the late 1800's to fit this necklace, it will be impossible to determine condition until the pewter??? copper???mounting material comes off. Last, but not least, NO, I prefer not to separate the coin from the necklace for 2 separate sales. It is hard to conceive that the Lady who originally wore this necklace, probably put much greater value on the healing qualities of the 89 smokey quartz beads, than on a cherished silver coin! To confirm that these beads are not cut from glass, I did the sharp metal knife test on a bead, and it could not be scratched. Glass would have been scratched, whereas quartz has a hardness rating higher than metal. I have not cleaned the necklace or the coin. The scene on the reverse side of the coin featuring Queen Victoria, is St. George on his Steed, slaying the Dragon. Please examine all photos to determine condition of the necklace and the coin.
