In the form of a small champagn bottle, with foiled neck and wired cork. The 'cork' lifring off to allow access to the bottle contents. Dating from the Belle Époque era, circa 1900. Hallmarked with the French Minerva mark 1st standard, the highest standard of French sterling silver. The mark depicts the profile of Roman goddess Minerva beside the numeral 1. This indicates a silver content of 95% (higher than sterling which is 92.5%). It also bears the silversmith’s mark for Armand Gross who worked as a master silversmith in Paris form 1893. A beautiful and unusual example of antique French silver which would grace any dining table. ConditionIn good antique condition with expected wear. Minor dings, scratches and surface wear throughout.
