Description: Antique Cut & Engraved Crystal~Silver Plated Claret Jug by William Hutton & Sons. Circa 1880.A superb quality Claret jug with exceptional floral garland and bow wheel engraved decoration....below the decoration are elegant swirled channel cuts.The fittings are of a plain round mount and handle with a hinged lid and pierced thumb-piece. Has William Hutton & Sons of Sheffield mark on the underside. Measures overall 11.75"tall with the base measuring a 3.75"diameter.Spout to handle mesures just over 5" across. All photos taken outside in good daylight. Weighing 1.102 kilos unwrapped.Condition is very good with no bleeding of the silver plate, ie no copper showing through.There is a small slight casting flaw as shown in photo 14 on the plain mount near the handle...On inspection it is structually very sound and nothing major, but noted.There is light wear etc, commensurate with age and use.
