Province:: Jewish immigrants Solomon and Max (son) had a clock shop on Church St. In Barnsley, England in the early 20th century. Solomon and Henrietta Krakauer emigrated from Germany in 1891. Max’s younger brother Arthur emigrated to NY in 1897 becoming a linen trader with links to the Barnsley trade. Back in Barnsley the family shop specialized in clock making. Arthur would send Ansonia clocks from NY to England and Solomon would retail said clocks with his Company’s name (advertising). Well traveled clock - NY TO ENGLAND TO WA STATE!
