Generally only one axle at a time is on the ramps, therefore easily handling any piece of equipment weighing less than 10,000 lbs. They are versatile allowing you to load pick-up trucks, autos, tractors, construction & landscape equipment onto a trailer. . The ramps are available either arched or straight or with angle or flat plate ends. We will reach out to you to clarify which ramps work best for your application. Welded on angle iron is used to secure the ramps to the trailer without worrying about the ramps sliding off while loading. You must have a lip or round bar behind your trailer for these ramps to work. Alternative - If the back of your trailer doesn't have a receiving means to hold the ramps in place when loading, these ramps are also available with flat plates on the end in place of the angle. There is an additional cost of $30 for the ramps with plates. This will allow you to load onto most flat surfaces. Please indicate you'd prefer the flat plates in a message to seller. We will acknowledge receipt of your message. Application information: Arched and straight ramps have the same weight capacity. The arch is best for a low clearance deck with short wheel base, like a ride on lawn mower. The straight ramps are equally strong however they store a little easier because they lay flat. If you can envision the straight and the arched side by side, the arched ramp goes up more steeply than the straight ramp solely so it can "rise into" the arch. The arch is primarily a benefit where the ramp attaches to the trailer, smoothing the angle created when a straight ramp touches a flat surface. If choosing flat plate instead of angle - The flat plate and angle are equally strong. The flat plate is solid across the 16" width and is 3/8" thick, plenty strong. To prevent the plated ramps from sliding you can either drop a pin or use the provided tiedowns. You could also bolt an angle to the ramps' flat plate and use the ramps either way. Ramp Specifications: 10,000 lb. distributed load capacity per pair. All aluminum, 6005T5 alloy construction. Each ramp is 5 ft. long by 16 in wide and 3-1/2" thick (each).
