African Slave Statue Style Of Charles Cordier "Breaker Of Chains" Lamp Spelter

Description: Coming from estate this wonderful, large and rare sculpture in antimony (spelter) is of excellent workmanship. The sculpture could represent a "freed Nubian" (slave) or a "breaker of chains", in the manner of Charles Cordier (1827 - 1905) . Given the execution, it is probably from the end of the 19th century and probably French. It is very scenic which, in addition to standing out in every place and where, creates attention, value and prestige. The figure and its expression are certainly exceptional, but the finishes are not to be underestimated and particular attention goes to the engravings, treated with great professionalism. Its dimensions are perfect so that it can be inserted in any context. This was converted to a lamp sometime im the past. I will provide one of 2 options for purchaser...I can either rewire it again as a lamp. Or I can remove all lamp parts and convert to a statue again the way it was originally intended. That will leave a hole in the base where wire was inserted and a small screw hole in back of head, last 2 pictures will make clearer what I'm referring to. Please contact me after purchase with your desires or further questions. Staue itself would be 19 inches tall, as a lamp 31inches.
