Description: A CHINESE COMPRADOR CHINA C1875 Magic Lantern Slide PHOTO XIAMEN ? FUJIAN ? An early image from the set " China and the Chinese" produced by York & son. Dated by myself to around 1875 based on dating other sets this slide came with and the fact the glass is thick which is an indication of age as this became thinner as technology improved. TITLED " 50 A COMPRODORE " AND I BELIEVE THIS WAS TAKEN IN WHAT IS NOW XIAMEN IN FUJIAM AS SLIDE 48 WAS OF THE AMOY CITY GATES.
