The Biography Follows: A lesser-known landscape painter of the Hudson River Valley in the 1860s, 70s, and 80s, Frank Anderson lived in Peekskill, New York, where many of his paintings can be found in private collections. He exhibited his work at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the National Academy of Design of New York, but was extremely shy about being involved in public events. He was a native of Ohio where his father was an inventor, and he, with similar interests, was credited with designing improvements to the telegraph.
