1935A $1 Dollar Silver Certificate Short Snorter WWII Clark Gable James Cagney

Description: 1935A $1 Dollar Silver Certificate. This note is circulated and ungraded, and has wear, creases, heavy soiling, so in itself would probably be considered acceptable condition. This is a World War II "short snorter", with the signatures of Clark Gable and James Cagney on the front, as well as 2 other signatures on front, and what appears to be 5 signatures on back, though those are more faded and less legible. While this has not been professionally authenticated, I can say that my grandfather gave this to me many years ago along with other things from his WWII service time. In 1943, Clark Gable was in the same bomber group as my grandfather, though they were in 2 different airplanes that were paired together within that group. I have seen photos online of the service members of that pairing together, which included Clark Gable and my grandfather. James Cagney did not serve in WWII, but in 1943, he did a tour with the USO of US military bases in England, which is probably how his signature came to be on this note as well. The other legible name appears to be T/Sgt Edwin R Ehret. Unfortunately, I can't really make out enough of the other names to list them here. The information presented here is in good faith and given to the best of my knowledge, research and understanding. The Clark Gable and James Cagney signatures do match to other examples that I've found while researching this, and I fully believe that these are legitimate signatures that were obtained by my grandfather in 1943 during his WWII service while stationed in England.
