Description: Letter dated February 21, 1928 sent to A. B. Tenney in care of Charles H. Tenney & Company, Boston, Massachusetts. The letter was sent from Boston and is signed (Charles P. Price???). The letter includes a newspaper clipping (“Flotilla of 18 in Tut’s Tomb”). The letter talks about the rivalry between the Boston Art Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts in New York and their respective Egyptian archaeologists (Dr. Reisner and Howard Carter). The writer of the letter appears to have intended to send this clipping to A. B. (Albert Ball) Tenney’s son, Richard. He promises that “when any other notices appear in the papers I will save them for Richard,” and adds “I am sure that he will enjoy a set of books that I have found for him.” The clipping is glued to a piece of stationary. Age-toned, but otherwise in very good condition.
