Its age, and its classic style make this a must have for any and every Buddy L collector. It is 23-1/4 inches long, and features aluminum wheels with painted spokes. The tailgate fits perfectly, for any load. In this case, there are a number of old pieces of lumber that are ink stamped "Buddy 'L' Lumber Co., Moline, ILL". The truck still retains its original pull cord. At this earliest time in its manufacturing history, Buddy 'L' applied one decal to these trucks, in this case to the floorboard. Some later productions began use of a radiator decal, but to be clear, there are no decals missing on this truck. The load of lumber (not original) is included with this sale. You will find a reference to this truck on page 267 in the "Collectors Guide to American Transportation Toys" by Joe and Sharon Freed, and on page 77-78, in the "New Book of Buddy 'L' Toys" Volume II.Condition: This toy is in excellent original condition. No touch ups or repairs. There is play wear, mostly on the floor of the service bed. However, the fenders, sidewalls, cab and engine compartment are really in quite special condition. There is some graphite stains on the inside wheels near the axles, but only visible when turned upside down.Guarantee: I stand behind my description of this toy, and will provide a full refund (less shipping costs) if there is any material difference between it and the item you receive.
