Description: DATING TO THE 1890’S TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION FASHIONED OF A WHITE SILK FAILLE THE BODICE BUTTONS CLOSED WITH KNIT COVERED WOOD CENTERED BOB BUTTONS IN THE CENTER FRONT WITH THE RIGHT CHEST HAVING A WHITE SEED AND PEARL APPLIQUE DETAIL. PEARL ACCENTS AROUND THE HIGH BAND COLLAR. THE SLEEVES ARE IN MASSIVE PUFF FULLNESS, LINED IN BUCKRAM ON THE INTERIOR WITH A COTTON SATEEN ON THE INTERIOR AND A BAND BOTTOM CUFF TRIMMED IN A LARGE BOW. TWO BUTTONS ARE MISSING FROM THE BODICE. LARGE BOW AT THE CENTER REAR COLLAR WITH LEAD WEIGHTS IN THE ACCORDIAN PLEAT REAR BUSTLE. THE SKIRTING IS MOST UNUSUAL IN A CRISS CROSS FRONT WITH BOTTOM SKIRTING TRIMMED IN ACCORDIAN PLEAT SILK AND SILK CORDING ALONG THE BOTTOM HEM. ASYMETRICAL IN STYLE WITH LARGE BEADED APPLIQUES ON THE RIGHT SIDE HIP ONLY ABOVE THE PLEATS WITH GATHERED BILLOWING ON THE LEFT SIDE WITH THE REAR FLOWING FULL IN A MASSIVE LONG TRAIN. INTERIOR LINED IN COTTON AND STIFF BUCKRAM WITH AN IVORY COTTON LINING THE BOTTOM HEM. HOOK AND EYES CLOSE THE REAR. THE BODICE IS LINED IN COTTON THAT MATCHES THE SKIRT AND IS FULLY BONED ON THE INTERIOR. CONDITION: VERY LIGHT FAINT UNDERARM SCUFFING, VERY HARD TO NOTE. SMALL SCUFFING OF A VERY LIGHT STAINING, NO WEAR OR FRAY TO THE FABRIC AT ALL, SEEN TO THE LEFT SLEEVE FROM STORAGE. I BELIEVE THIS WAS FROM THE BOX IT WAS STORED IN. MUCH OF THE PEARL ACCENTS ARE MISSING FROM THE NECKLINE AND I WOULD REMOVE. SOME SMALL BEAD LOSS SEEN TO THE APPLIQUE OF THE CHEST. THE SKIRT HAS SOME SMALL SCUFFING TO ONE OF THE PLEAT FOLDS JUST ASIDE THE BEADED APPLIQUE WITH THE REAR TRAIN CENTER BOTTOM HAVING SOME SMALL SCUFFING ALONG THE EDGE OF THE TOP SILK WITH FOUR DARK BROWN STAINS AND A SCUFF STAINING TO THE LEFT SIDE TRAIN FOURTEEN INCHES UP FROM THE BOTTOM. I PERSONALLY WOULD CONSIDER GATHERING AND ALTERING THE TOP SILK OF THE TRAIN SLIGHTLY BECAUSE BENEATH THAT IS ALL FRESH, CLEAN SILK SO NONE THE WISER. THERE IS A SMALL SCUFF STAIN ON THE REAR SEAT ON ONE OF THE PLEATS OF THE SKIRT, AGAIN A CHANGE IN FOLD OF THE PLEAT WOULD FULLY HIDE.
