Description: DATING TO THE 1860’S ACQUIRED FROM ITS ORIGINAL ESTATE IN CENTRAL OHIO FASHIONED OF A SMALL AND LARGE DOT PATTERN IVORY SILK AND IS SEWN BY HAND FULLY THROUGHOUT. THE FRONT IS FULLY PADDED, POCKETS ARE ON EACH SIDE WITH HIGH CHEST POCKET ON THE LEFT SIDE AND SELF COVERED BUTTONS CLOSE. INTERIOR IS LINED IN LINEN WITH LEATHER TRIMMING THE INNER BOTTOM FRONT EDGE. BACKED IN LINEN WITH BUCKLE CLOSING FOR ADJUSTING THE SIZE. CONDITION: THIS PIECE IS SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. THE SILK IS STRONG AND STURDY WITH A SLIGHT FRAYING TO THE SILK ON THE UNDERARM EDGE OF EACH SIDE. I HAVE MADE NO ATTEMPT TO HAVE THIS PIECE CLEANED. IT IS SPATTERED WITH BROWN STAINING THROUGHOUT AND WITH HEAVIER STAINING ON THE BUTTON CLOSURE, THE LAPELS, AND A DARKER THUMBPRINT STAIN ON THE HIGH RIGHT CHEST. SPATTERED AGE COLOR IS ACROSS THE BACK AND THE INNER BACK.
