Description: This listing is for the 1625 Regenerative Receiver that you see in the photos. It comes with plug-in coils, a high impedance piezo headset and an 8-pin plug-in connector and wiring harness for your power supply. I make these to order, so please allow 7 to 10 days for shipment once your order has been placed. Chassis colors are green, black, gray, blue and red. Please let me know if you have a preference. Otherwise I will ship the gray hammered finish, as pictured. The 1625 makes a good classic regenerative receiver. It works great, with good headphone volume. The spectrum coverage is continuous, from about 540 khz to 15.8 mhz--using several plug-in coils, similar to those shown in the photos. Power requirements are 12.6 volts dc for the filament and 20 to 30 volts dc for the regen detector circuit. Actually, you do not need anything but one 12 volt source to make this radio work. Performance is typically adequate with only one 12 volt supply, but the circuit has a separate supply line provided just in case you find circumstances where you want a little more gain. Otherwise, just connect both dc input connectors in parallel and use only a 12 volt source capable of about 1/2 amp dc current. You will need a wire antenna at least 25 ft. long and a good earth ground. You'll pick up more stations with a longer antenna, 50 to 100' in length. I'm able to copy tons of stations in the early evening and early morning hours, including stations on the amateur radio bands. The fine tuning control will allow you to clarify ssb and cw signals. A hand sketched wiring diagram will be provided, along with instructions on where to hook the antenna, power and headphones. About 80 to 90% of the parts are new. Since a few of the parts are from good used stock I am listing the radio as used, even though most of the parts are either new or nos. Controls are main and fine tuning, antenna coupling and regen setting. I guarantee this radio will work if you hook it up properly with appropriate power supply and a good antenna.
